Removing stumps isn’t necessary but can be useful for replanting, building, space or because you might find them unsightly.
We can remove stumps in a variety of ways, for smaller shrubs or hedges we can often dig them out with hand tools or utilising a winch. For larger woodier plants and trees we use a machine with a large disc with cutting teeth called a stump grinder. This literally grinds the stump away leaving only a pile of shredded matter behind, which we can remove or can leave and it will naturally rot down in a short space of time.
Stump grinders come in an array of sizes from push along to large tracked remote controlled versions. Depending on the access and size of the stump we can determine which machine would be most economical.
